I Have A Lynksys 54mbps router?

I Have A Lynksys 54mbps router and it usually is fine except for gamming. If I try to connect to gamespy through Microsoft Flight Simulaotor... It disconnects me after a few seconds. It also does this with my PSP and it keeps loosing connection. Would getting a D-Link 108mbps router fix the problem? I have resseted my router many times.

my xbox live doesnt work as good.

maybe linksys in general.
