Star Wars Battlefront 2 Problem?

I got the game, installed it, played a little galactic conquest, tried to play multiplayer and it tried to log in and it closed out on me. I thought it might have something to do with gamespy so I downloaded it and tried to join a game. Same thing happened. I'm running windows XP SP2 and meet all system requirements. Any help is greatly appreciated.

BF2 was quite buggy. it would tend to do that if it was a copied game / ISO and the CD key was in use I'd imagine. I remember having issues with it on an internal lan too,

Though you'd think it'd have the courtesy to let you know.
