GameSpy Arcade help...?

I am trying to play Age of Empires II: The Conquerors, but for some reason... I cannot host games... and when I put in the Ip into the game, no games show up... = [

can someone please help me to connect to the game...

*I have opened all the nessessary ports, and have made ecceptions in all my firewalls/anti-viruses

that happens to me its beacause you can only play games with people connected to your network stuff like if you have 2 comeputers you can host a game and people will join and you can only see games if people are connected to your network or maybe your connection or your internet cord is broken
