How do u change your internal ip address to the same as your external?

I want to to change it so i can host games on Gamespy arcade.

Thanks

if you want to host a game server, you have to either forward the ports to that pc. Or DMZ the PC this puts the pc in front of the routers firewall (this is a security risk but works)

Your internal IP address is a way for your router to direct traffic between all internet enabled devices of your local network. Changing it to match you external is not recommended.

All routers specify part of your IP address for you i.e. 192.168.x.x (where x is the set of numbers you can change) because you can't change the first numbers, you cannot match your IP address to your external one, which starts with different numbers.

You should not have to change your internal IP address for Gamespy hosting. Just make sure all the necessary ports are open to your computer (and put your computer on a static IP address)

To host games you'll need to set up port forwarding or connect directly to the internet instead of using a router. I'd advise the first method.

To configure port forwarding, it depends what game you're playing which ports you'll have to forward, and on which model of router you have.
