No not at all. Currently most online RPG's and XBOX Live require some form of payment, but none of the Total War series require any type of payment. If it is running through GameSpy thoough you will have to register with them, this is free to do.

I have the total war series including m2 but do i have to pay to go online and play other player thro gamespy?
