I need help on GAMESPY ARCADE trying to play a pc game but i need a patch for it, but this is happening.,....?

i click on the part where it says do download the patch, and it brings me to www.fileplanet.com i guess thats where im suppose to download it from. so i even downloaded the file manager for it. and i don't know but do i have to subscribe to gamespy and pay either a monthly fee or annual fee to get the patch? or is it free? and im doing the wrong things please ive been trying to play for the last 3 hours online. thank u if u help me

If you scroll down on the fileplanet download screen, there should be some free servers with a line. Use one of those and you'll be able to download for free.
