How to unblock my router?

im trying to play rise of nations with a freind, but neither of our routers allow us to join over gamespy or direct ip, if one of us create a game and the other joins, then they will just sit in the connecting screen and never join

any help on how to make our ip adresses connect or to make our routers work on gamespy?

Try using Hamachi

This may not be your router but firewall of PC's network. Disable network's firewall of all PCs and hopefully then you can connect.

go to advanced in router > then port forwarding > on both computer forward 34987 UDP on both machines that will allow direct connection. (that is for rise of nations only) other games use other ports

I think that you need to open ports in both routers it really depends on the port that is being used by your game.
