Port forwarding not working?

i'm trying to host a game online. behind a router. i set windows firewall and mcaffee firewall to allow the game and gamespy (i play through gamespy). i opened the necessary ports in windows firewall, and through my router as well. but it still doesn't work. when i run tests to see if the ports are open, they aren't. how can i open them? i have a belkin wireless g router. windows vista

Disable all firewall first, then test. If it works, then fix your firewalls, also look into Enabling the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
